The city boundary lines were digitized to match available county parcel base information provided from TASS in the format of CAD DWG layers and/or the Tax Rate Area (TRA) maps in PDF file. TIGER/Line Parcel data and ESRI Basemap imagery were used as reference layers. Additional 3 nautical mile offshore polygons were digitized for the coastal cities located from south of San Francisco to the Mexican border according to TRA maps. We keep the offshore polygons separate from their city boundaries on the lands, and put “3 nautical mile offshore” label in the attribute “Notes” for those polygons. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN><SPAN>The attributes include 2010 United States Census population and land area information, the city incorporated dates and web links are listed as well. Currently, there are 21 unincorporated urban service communities within Sonoma County. The communities are limited to urban development through urban services which is the full range of public services and infrastructures including sewer, water, police and fire protection, roads, transit, etc. Per General Plan Land Use 2020 adoption on 09/23/2008 by the Board of Supervisors, USA's were updated to reflect changes in service areas, spheres of influence and city urban growth boundaries (Reso. No. 08-0808). The 21 urban service areas are as follows: Airport Bodega Bay Cloverdale Cotati Forestville Geyserville Graton Guerneville Healdsburg Larkfield Monte Rio Occidental Penngrove Petaluma Rohnert Park Santa Rosa Sea Ranch Sebastopol Sonoma Sonoma Valley Windsor To note, according to 2012 California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Chapter 2.5 Definitions addresses "Urbanized Area" and defines "urban growth boundary" as a provision of a locally adopted general plan that allows urban uses one side of the boundary and prohibits urban uses on the other side.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>

Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>Building outlines for permanent visible structures in Sonoma County. Original building outline capture for Sonoma County included only those areas in Sonoma County where the 2000 orthophotography resolution was one foot per pixel or less. In addition, building outlines were not captured for the cities of Sonoma and Healdsburg, but were added at a later date. For areas where the orthophotography resolution was greater than one foot per pixel, a point was captured representing the location of the structure. The point was subsequently converted into a 36 sf polygon. These polygons were then added to the Building Outline layer. As a result, some areas of the county may not have representative building outlines. As new orthophotography becomes available, new building outlines are added. This layer is a work in progress and the County of Sonoma does not guarantee 100% coverage for representative building outlines.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
