Description: This layer serves as the authoritative geographic data source for California's K-12 public school locations during the 2024-25 academic year. Schools are mapped as point locations and assigned coordinates based on the physical address of the school facility. The school records are enriched with additional demographic and performance variables from the California Department of Education's data collections. These data elements can be visualized and examined geographically to uncover patterns, solve problems and inform education policy decisions. The schools in this file represent a subset of all records contained in the CDE's public school directory database. This subset is restricted to TK-12 public schools that were open in October 2024 to coincide with the official 2024-25 student enrollment counts collected on Fall Census Day in 2024 (first Wednesday in October). This layer also excludes nonpublic nonsectarian schools and district office schools. The CDE's California School Directory provides school location other basic school characteristics found in the layer's attribute table. The school enrollment, demographic and program data are collected by the CDE through the California Longitudinal Achievement System (CALPADS) and can be accessed as publicly downloadable files from the Data & Statistics web page on the CDE website. Schools are assigned X, Y coordinates using a quality controlled geocoding and validation process to optimize positional accuracy. Most schools are mapped to the school structure or centroid of the school property parcel and are individually verified using aerial imagery or assessor's parcels databases. Schools are assigned various geographic area values based on their mapped locations including state and federal legislative district identifiers and National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) locale codes.

Display Field: ZIP
Type: Feature Layer
Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon
Description: This layer represents the geographic areas 1-3 below. Category 4, tribal lands, are in the other layer. In this designation, CalEPA formally designated four categories of geographic areas as disadvantaged:1. Census tracts receiving the highest 25 percent of overall scores in CalEnviroScreen 4.0 (1,984 tracts).2. Census tracts lacking overall scores in CalEnviroScreen 4.0 due to data gaps, but receiving the highest 5 percent of CalEnviroScreen 4.0 cumulative pollution burden scores (19 tracts).3. Census tracts identified in the 2017 DAC designation as disadvantaged, regardless of their scores in CalEnviroScreen 4.0 (307 tracts).4. Lands under the control of federally recognized Tribes. For purposes of this designation, a Tribe may establish that a particular area of land is under its control even if not represented as such on CalEPA’s DAC map and therefore should be considered a DAC by requesting a consultation with the CalEPA Deputy Secretary for Environmental Justice, Tribal Affairs and Border Relations at TribalAffairs@calepa.ca.gov.
Description: Census tracts are small units of geography. Census tract boundaries for statistical areas are determined by the U.S. Census Bureau once every ten years. The tool utilizes the census tract boundaries from 2010. This was chosen because many of the data sources in the tool currently use the 2010 census boundaries. The tool's datasets are public and consistent nationwide. They come from different sources and are high quality. The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) chose them based on relevance, availability, and quality. They identify climate, environmental, and other burdens on communities. This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau. This dataset was downloaded as a shapefile from the Screening Tool website listed below. It filtered to San Joaquin County.https://screeningtool.geoplatform.gov/en/downloads

Description: "The California Healthy Places Index, developed by the Public Health Alliance of Southern California and visualized by Axis Maps, is a powerful tool to explore the community conditions that impact life expectancy. We created the HPI to disrupt structural inequities by using data to create change. The HPI helps prioritize public and private investments, resources, and programs in neighborhoods where they are needed most."The data was collected from the Healthy Places Index website, https://www.healthyplacesindex.org, by API Key download by census tract, and filtered to the San Joaquin County Boundary.

Description: The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), on behalf of the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA), announces the availability of the Communities Environmental Health Screening Tool: CalEnviroScreen Version 4.0. CalEnviroScreen is a screening methodology that can be used to help identify California communities that are disproportionately burdened by multiple sources of pollution. The 4.0 report and supporting documents are available at: http://oehha.ca.gov/calenviroscreen/report/calenviroscreen-40.This data will be used for analysis for the SJCOG Regional Active Transportation Plan.
Description: This dataset contains the existing bicycle facilities within San Joaquin County. this data was collected from the SJCOG provided Regional Congestions Monitoring Plan 2023 Data ArcGIS Pro Map Package file. The City of Stockton provided an additional bicycle facilities dataset which had facilities, not designated in the countywide dataset, which were appended to this combined dataset. This data will be used for analysis for the SJCOG Regional Active Transportation Plan.
