The Sidewalk Width and Separation feature class shows sidewalk width and the distance from the road for sidewalk locations along a roadway as derived from event mapping Feature 216, characteristic SIDWLKWD from the FDOT Roadway Characteristics Inventory data. This data represents the information collected and reported as of the most recent inventory performed and may not reflect the current conditions.
The FDOT GIS Sidewalk Width & Separation feature class provides spatial information on sidewalk width & separation distance from the roadway. The sidewalk separation is an important safety measure. The greater the distance the sidewalk is from the roadway, the less chance there is for conflict between pedestrians and vehicles. Sidewalk width is recorded to the nearest foot. This information is required for all non-limited access highways, including bridge segments. This dataset is maintained by the Transportation Data & Analytics office (TDA). The source spatial data for this hosted feature layer was created on: 03/14/2026. |
